Finca Sophia consistently produces some of the finest Geisha in the world. This lot is a classic natural processed Geisha coming from one of the highest elevation plots in Panama.
It is located in the highlands of Panama, near the settlement of Nueva Suiza, just up the road from Volcán. At an altitude that tops 2,100 m.a.s.l, Finca Sophia is one of the highest coffee farms in the country, and is planted almost exclusively with Geisha.
Finca Sophia is an experimental farm and was established to test the limits of coffee cultivation in Panama. While higher elevation promotes slow fruit maturation and high quality, it also presents a myriad of challenges, stressing the coffee trees to the extreme, but when combined with the best care and innovations in processing it creates the quality that has established Finca Sophia as a small but mighty contender in the highly competitive Best of Panama Competition.
In the cup you will find a clean and mesured fruit-forward profile, this coffee has intense orange jam notes carried by a velvety mouthfeel. You will get rich florals like roses, and also notes of fresh raspberry and ripe apricot. This coffee is all about sweetness, mesure and balance.
